Interprofessional Leaning

Interprofessional learning is where two or more health professionals from different disciplines learn about, from and with each other to enable effective collaboration and improve health outcomes7. Interprofessional learning facilitates better team skills and allows each member of the health team to better understand the role and contribution others make. Interprofessional learning opportunities are ideal for student placements8 and are becoming more common in student placement opportunities.

When considering taking students, work with the education provider to explore options of taking students from different disciplines where your service may provide a useful learning opportunity for example pharmacy students in general practice, medical students with GP practice or community nurses.
